1940s:

Russian emigrant Mordechai " Motti " Melamed set up a bookkeeping practice in Cape Town named M Melamed & Company.


1950s:

After admission of two additional partners, the practice was renamed Melamed Kaplan and Seidel.


1960s:

Motti Melamed retired after a successful career, having founded a successful practice.


1970s:

Melamed Kaplan and Seidel merged with Ger Josman and Company to form Josman Seidel Ger and Kaplan. The firm later changed their name to Josman and Seidel.


1990s:

Josman and Seidel joined the Nexia International Association and changed their name to Nexia Josman Seidel. The firm later changed their name to Nexia Cape Town and hosted the Nexia International Annual Conference at the V & A Waterfront.


To date:



The partnership evolved with various retirements and admissions of new partners. The current partners are: Michelle Bräsler, Claudette February, Thembakazi Dyani-Sapula, Conrad Meyer, Patrick Ross and Derek Shapiro, all of whom served their traineeships with the firm and were promoted to partner level from within the firm.
